Biography

I am neurodivergent and caregiver of my diverse neurodivergent family which includes my husband and three ADHD/Autistic boys. I have loved photography since I was 10. I am in my mid 40s and have recently experienced some life changing events associated with my mental health. I experienced homelessness when we moved to Oregon in March 2020 for four months because the job my husband was offered wasn't an essential workers type job. In September of 2020 I flew to Colorado to care for my mom who had just been diagnosed with stage four cancer. Three weeks later I witnessed her last breath as she passed away in her home. Then a psychiatrist diagnosed my ADHD which I didn't know I was. He tried to manage my meds, but it led to medically induced trauma that affected my cognitive abilities. It led up to a suicide attempt in May 2022. I have since decided to incorporate going to school at Portland Community College as part of my own self care. I have made these experiences my motivation to advocate for myself and others. My education goal and future career goal is based on the desire to build a strong community for all creatives to collaborate with each other. I am taking my general study classes required to be accepted into the Graphic Design Program to acquire my associate degree.
